NEWSPAPERS
Newspapers are published daily and therefore contain recent information. An editorial staff checks newspaper articles,
A newspaper often has more specific information than a book does.
The information in a newspaper is not always the truth. This is partly because journalists just don’t have the time to check everything. How does a newsroom get all the news? Apart from its own ‘discoveries’, there are lots of press releases that come into the newsroom. They come from press agencies (like Reuters), as well as from government agencies and big companies. They offer ready-prepared news articles to the newspapers. Because of a lack of money and time, journalists don’t always have the time to check the information in the press releases they receive. The purpose of journalists is to write the truth. Other organizations have there own purposes and interests and want to have their own ‘truth’ published. That’s why it’s even more important to check the information that they deliver. But, unfortunately, this isn’t always the case!
