Public Library of The Hague
The Public Library includes the Central Library at Spui and 16 smaller
branches spread throughout the City of The Hague.
You can go to the Public Library to have a look at books, journals and
other materials. You are permitted to copy the information you find. You
do not have to be a member to do so. However, if you would like to take
a book home, membership is required. It is rare for journals to be lent
out, and reference books are not lent out very often either. Young people
under 18 can become members free of charge. Those aged between 18 and
25 pay a reduced price for membership. To obtain a card you will have
to go to one of the branches taking with you proof of identity and an
official document containing your address, e.g. a bank slip. This card
is valid at all branches.
